Today I have a review for your all of a few selections from the Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Matte Collection! These polishes like all of the Insta-Dri Collection rock for several reasons and are much beloved on this blog for these reasons. One they are essentially one coat wonders and I think I've gushed enough to the heavens and back that you know how much I appreciate that. Two they are fast drying which means I can stamp essentially within 5 minutes of placing the polish down. And finally three, they are a match made in heaven when it comes to being used as stamping polishes themselves. So of course it is with extreme pleasure that I'm get to share these polishes with you today!
Mauve Matter
This polish is a rose-toned nude creme. It levels out like a dream and you probably could easily get away with one coat. However I think that because of the matte formulation of this polish the first coat ended up being a touch streaky. When I applied the second it corrected like a dream. Best of all because these polishes of fast drying I was able to put the second coat down within 2 minutes of the first and everything was totally dry within 5 minutes of that coat. Woot! No topcoat was applied to any of the swatches.

Base coat: Duri Rejuvacote Topcoat: NYC Matte Me Crazy
Stamping polishes: Mumdo de Unas 21 and Sally Hansen Mint Sprint
Stamping plate: Fab Ur Nails Fun 4
On top of being a winner in terms of drying time and stamping ability I am also just a sucker for nudes. I probably own more than a sane person should, but I am still in search of that perfect nude polish for my skin tone. While this color doesn't completely disappear on me it is extremely flattering with my skintone. Way to be Sally Hansen ;)
These matte polishes have more of a wax finish than a true matte finish, which I actually like quite a bit!
In A Haze
This is a blue based grapey purple. Rather than true matte it seems to have a waxy finish like the two other polishes. Also again because of the matte formulation I did find the first coat to be very streaky. This corrected in the second coat. This is two coats and no topcoat pictured below.

Basecoat: Duri Rejuavote
Accent nail:Sally Hansen Extreme Wear Lacey Lilac
Stamping polishes: Mundo de Unas and Sally Hansen In A Haze (Matte)
Stamping plates: Loja BBF 04 and BBF 25
This mani clearly demonstrated that the matte Insta-Dri's can double as stamping polishes as well though they are bit more sheer than the non-matte formulations.
Coastin' By
Soft pastel blue with pale green undertones. This one is truly lovely and delicate! Just as with the other two I needed two coats in order to correct the streakiness of the first coat, but it was uterly worth it!

Basecoat: Duri Rejuvacote
Nested Triangles: Sally Hansen In A Haze and Mauve Matter
Stamping polish: Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Brisk Blue
Stamping plates: MoYou London Sailor 09
Studs: Neon 2mm Pueen Cosmetics
All three of the matte selections were used to create the nested triangles. I just took a think striper brush and used that to outline Coastin' By. I love how this turned out. This polish is really pretty :)
So what do you think? Has anyone else tried these matte Insta-Dri polishes general or for stamping? I actually really loved all 3 of these polishes, but then I'm a sucker for most mattes especially with this kind of color saturation! My only issue with these polishes actually has nothing to do with the polish at all, but instead the brush. As always I really dislike the wide and unwieldy brush that comes in the Insta-Dri bottles. Ironically while this brush is perfect for covering up images for stamping quickly it also always manages to flood my cuticles and the sides of my nails no matter how careful I am. I truly wish they would redesign and replace this brush. Otherwise these colors and formulations are winners. You can find Sally Hansen Insta-Dri nail polish at your local drug and beauty stores, Target, Walgreens, and more or on the Sally Hansen website. Insta-Dri polishes retail for 4.99 USD.
