Ready for some more new nail art stamping plates? It actually slowed down quite a bit from the top of the year, but as usual several brands have decided to release a few plates for the spring so we are faced with big tidal waves of releases instead of a steady trickle. So today I'm going to turn the tap on so you don't get left behind in the squall ;) MyOnline Shop is getting ready to release another set of 7 plates in a scant few days so let's take a look.
This will be the loudest gush you will "hear" this post, but GTFO!!! You all know I am a sci-fi loving geek because let's face it I talk about my love of the fandoms and my general geekiness all the time up in here. I'm a firm believer in letting your freak flag fly and who give a damn wether anyone else approves? Star Wars, One Piece, Iron Man, Captain America, and more! There are even some images devoted to sign language. Lol its a random plate but I'm smiling from ear to ear!
My smile got a little bit flipped upside down. So....I'm seeing a few images from some Dashica plates I own (the jungle monkeys and the sheep ) so basically the first 2 large images are a bust for me since I already own smaller versions of them. Then I see this very cool alligator and Thumbelina (?) images. I'm torn this is a bit of a cartoonish plate so I'm not to sure how I feel about that but one thing is as I continue to grow my collection I want to try and keep new purchases to the most original images possible.
Yes the ever popular peacock is showing up all over the place these days - Born Pretty, Marianne Nails, UberChic, and more. This plate looks entirely too similar to another plate from Marianne Nails with at least 3 replicated images. It also has feathers which I think are from one of the Angles Chez Delaney plates I posted toward the end of last year. Gorgeous? Yes, but again I'm in that constant battle between choosing original images. If only I could own ALL the plates lol. Even with the duplicate images this one may be hard for me to resist.
Fairly original, Loving that giant daisy image. That leaf/tree is bothering me like the image is familiar but I can't quite place it? Or maybe I just want it? The tree branches are from a recent Fab Ur Nails plate. These floral plates always kills me though because I always want them.
I like this plate a lot! But duh right because when have you ever known me to pass up an abstract plate? Still this one is definitely wishlistable since I see some images from MoYou London that I already own.
More original than the prior still love the abstracts. This one definitely goes on the old wishlist!
Beautiful, but a pass for me. There are so many of these Wedding/Bridal plates out now and while this is beautiful it has the feel of several of the first sets of Born Pretty Store plates that came out. Especially the women with gowns made of abstracts and butterflies and the chandeliers. It's more than my withered heart can take. Plus I think we all know I'm no romantic lolol. Like the height of my romance barometer is taking out the trash and bringing me a Blue Moon with an orange slice. Pathetic but true ;)
So thoughts? Any must haves? For me its number 42 all the way! Have to have that one plus I get the feeling it will sell out quickly with all those pop culture references. These plates will be releasing March 1st and will retail for $18 per plate plus shipping. You can find MyOnline Shop MJ plates and more here. Thanks for reading! Happy hunting and I'll see you next post..
Hello,
ReplyDeleteFirst, love all your posts. For me you are number with all stamping post.
I see here a lot of Dashica images not just one plate there is also some butterflies from her plates but the image look zoom in.
I think I am going to buy the last one only because that I want the bridle image plate from bornpretty and I didn't have it yet. But still the last one is repeated images one of them from moyou fairy tale plate.
Thank you
I can't find any plates I like. I have looked and looked. As of now, the only plates I have are the Pueen Encore. I'm new to stamping! I just can't make myself buy a plate if I only like one image on it. And I am really tired of all the floral and lace plates I've been seeing. But I will keep looking - eventually I'll get more!
ReplyDeleteI find that incredible with all the brands of plates out there! What kind of images are you looking for? Maybe I can help. Yes there are a lot of floral and lace plates out there but its not like those are the only images in the world. Have you tried Messy Mansion plates or the various collections by MoYou London for instance the Explorer Collection? Dashica Beauty also overs a variety of styles of images and I know the first 2 Cici and Sisi sets are pretty varied as well. There are also the 2 smaller DRK Designer Series plates that have beautiful abstract designs and Sugar Bubbles who has a particularly interesting design philosophy. In general yes there are many sets that will resolve around a theme but you can get around that by buying individual plates. And to be honest the Pueen Encore set that you own does have a very floral, avian abstract theme. I could probably list off 10 brands with plates that don't have these themes so my guess is that you just haven't expanded your search enough.
ReplyDeleteI actually like all of these!!! repeats or not =)
ReplyDeleteLol its not that I dislike them, most are gorgeous. It's just when you're spending $18 per plate I want that expenditure to be justified. If I already have the images in my collection its a bit like "wasteful spending". I also know a lot of my followers want to know when images are duplicated across brands so they can prevent overlap in their own collections. That said yes they are beautiful plates and yes I want to bring attention to the brand regardless of my sentiment about image over lap because MOS plates are definitely superb quality and I'm a fan of the brand :)
ReplyDeleteThank you for posting and commenting about these new plates! Regarding the XLV plate, the leaf/tree is the same one as on the Bunny Nails BuNa-A stamping plate.
ReplyDeleteNo problem! Yes thank you!! I swear I was racking my brain trying to figure it out lol Bit of a bummer I was hoping it was because I wanted it rather than I already had it :/
ReplyDeleteThank you hun and you're welcome. I also happen to agree, MoYou London is the first company that did the women with dresses made of flowers/birds/etc its on their Fairytale Collection plates and then BPS duped it now MOS has her version. I have both the prior but I'm really not into romantic plates so I'd pass for that reason.
ReplyDeleteSays your shop is under construction. Where can I buy that or similar Star wars plate?
