Watercolor Tropical Abstract Nail Art (Alcohol Ink Method)

Hey lacqueristas,

Today I've got some soft and sweet nail art.   This mani may seem familiar to those of you who watched my Double Processing video.  Don't know what I'm talking about? Check it out here. Anyway today feels like the first time I'm going to take my newer Chez Delaney plates out for a spin though I've had them for a little bit now.  I love these plates and I'll be doing an in depth review on them shortly but for today let's hit the beach! Oh btw EtoH equals alcohol a swifter chemical abbreviation for than spelling it out constantly ;)

Mani-louge
Basecoat/ Topcoat:  Duri Rejuvacote / Poshe Fast Drying Topcoat
Base color: Rica WhiteOut
EtoH Inks: Adirondack EtoH Ink in Citrus, Purple Twilight, Sunshine Yellow. Sail Boat Blue, and Watermelon
Glitter topper: CND Northern Lights in Silver
Stamping polish: Mundo de Unas 2 & 3
Stamping plates: Chez Delaney CD Marin 003 and Floral 008

Please don't ask me why I am holding this LSL polish I didn't even use it in the mani.  The bottle was just handy while I was shooting. Lol.  Ok so I filmed a tutorial to show you how I created this mani and then when I looked back at my camera it hadn't recorded a damn thing!  Sigh - total fail. Anyway I'm going to be working with EtoH inks again soon and I'll film a tutorial at that point when I create them so stay tuned.  I will say offhand though that working with these inks requires a bit of practice and experimentation.

What do you think of this mani?  I want to play around a hell of a lot more with this technique, but right now I'm pretty happy with this particular result.  Obviously these are bright and fun and I hope give a sense of whimsey.  For those interested in purchasing the Chez Delaney plates you can find them here.  EtoH inks can be found on Amazon, Johanne's Fabrics and other craft and paper stores. Thanks for reading and I'll see you next post....

  1. I love it. It gives me this feeling of a beach at night or at sunset, when the sky get those shades of pink and orange. It's really pretty.
