How is everyone? Is it me or did this past week fly by in a frenzy? Is it really Monday already? Lol. Well regardless today is a great to put your feet up and enjoy another stamping plate related review. Best of all? It's from one of my favorite makers - Loja BBF and even better new plates are on the rise! This review should have been up eons ago - I'm super behind in everything from being ill, but it was definitely worth the wait. Nobody quite makes plates like Cris. She is incredibly hardworking, creative, and sweet. In this regard she has a lot of my love, respect, and admiration cause lord knows running a business ain't easy! Now feel free to scroll on through and don't forget to leave me some feedback while I give you yet another reason to open up your wallets for some insanely gorgeous plates!
Loja BBF
A Brazilian based indie platemaker run by the insanely kind and talented Cris Martinez. This brand has been around for quite a while now and is no stranger to my blog. Her plates are gorgeous and well etched. The maker herself has top notch customer service and works hard to make sure her customer base is satisfied. She has released over 50 plates to date, with new ones that have just released. Her nitch in the platemaking world feels a lot like fantasy/childhood dreams. BBF gives us a ton of childhood memories made into plate form along with some classic and just insanely pretty detailing. Her brand is beloved by many and continues to expand outward toward custom plates and templates. In short there is a lot to love here! Go show Cris some love and follow along to keep updated on all her latest and greatest!
The Plates
This plate gave me chills so perfect it hurts!
New scanner is kick ass! Lol these plates look fantastic ;)
Image Size Comparison
The image size on blank plates can vary generally they are 2.0 x 1.6 cm length by width, but they can and do get larger. This is often the case more recently with some of her landscape style plates such as the Cinderella one I have above. I provided my regular list of image size comparisons by a several makers out on the market. Don't forget if you want a specific comparison to other plates you can use the broader comparison chart I made across many different brands. Click here to view the comprehensive chart. Also I have recently added some new measurements to the chart so be sure to check it out!
Bunny Nails HD B: 2.5 x 2.0 cm
Fab Ur Nails FUN 14: 2.2 x 1.7 cm
Messy Mansion: 2.3 x 1.8 cm
MoYou London Pro (Non-XL): 1.5 x 1.3 cm
MoYou London Pro (XL): 2.2 x 1.6 cm
MyOnline Shop MJVIII: 2.2 x 1.7 cm
Pet'la: 2.4 x 2.0 cm
UberChic Beauty:
Vivid Lacquer: 2.0 x 2.0 cm
Swatches
As with all my reviews when swatching out the images I used Wet N' Wild Black Creme. Because of the landscape nature of several of the plates I used my marshmallow stamper from Magno Nails along with my Jumbo stamper from Chelle We Stamp. Both have fantastic pickup. I only switch to Konad Special Stamping polish or Mundo de Unas in the event I am unable to pick up an image.

Again for those that don't know the reason I choose to stamp with Wet N' Wild Black Creme for my swatches is because it's cheap and readily available. Furthermore, it is the lowest quality polish I can use for stamping. What does that mean? It means I don't expect images generated by WnW to have near the precision of those generated using a polish designated for stamping. Stamping polishes allow an image to stamp with even more clarity and crispness than regular polish. Period. In short if I have a plate that stamps well with WnW polish this is my assurance that indeed the etching on these plates is excellent enough that it can support stamping with a polish that is not meant for that purpose.
Here you can see I had some problems with one image on plate 48. Despite the rest of the plate stamping flawlessly the lower left hand corner image would not allow me to pick up the finer details of the image. I tried stamping with MdU to see if that would provide some resolution, unfortunately it was a small etching issue. Occasionally that does happen, but as usual with Cris as soon as I notified her she immediately responded and said she would send a replacement. Fantastic customer service every time!
In any case the rest of the plates swatched beautifully as did most of BBF48. You can tell by how crisp all these tiny little details and fine lines are swatching out that these plates are well etched. In fact most of them swatched so perfectly the first time that I did not require a restamp unless I made a mistake in stamping myself (i.e. user error). For plates with fine lines like the Cinderella plate and the tattoo plate that's fantastic!
Final Impression
I truly think these plates are fantastic! I've been impressed by Loja BBF for a very long time now. Cris worked incredibly hard to establish her company and continues to expand on that foundation creating quality one of a kind images. I always look forward to her releases and I love working with her plates. This set of plates is really no exception to my prior reviews. The etching is superb the images are crisp and beautiful. So what's not to love? Having done this set I'm now even more excited to start working with them and the newest plates Cris just released. Oh yes! It was a happy coicidence when I found out Cris had just released some brand new plates and boy are they all kinds of gorgeous. You want to take a look right? Check em out here. You can purchase Loja BBF plates right off of her website. Plates retails from $7.50-9.00 USD for the larger plates.

Hello, I am new to stamping and I recently discovered BBF when looking for some Disney inspired plates. I noticed she had two sizes regular and mini. Do you believe I should get the mini size for shorter natural nails? Thank you for this review it has been extremely helpful!
