Christmas Simples: Sugar Bubbles Holographic Snowflakes + Tutorial

Hey stamperistas,

This is the simplest of Simples.  Lol actually all my Simples have been just that easy one or two step creations that are pretty, festive, and give you plenty of time to do more important things than painting your nails.  Though let's be honest nothing is more important than painting your nails except stamping your nails wink wink nudge nudge.  After all the gift looks better when its wrapped up by pretty looking hands lolol ;)  You see how I use these excuses to get away with nonsense of the best kind yes?

Now moving on...oh Sugar Bubbles! Everything you do gives me chills - I adore your plates especially the holiday themed ones.  Too bad the ones that released for this year did not make it to any of her stateside resellers in time for usage :(  Boo!  More on that later but look at these freaking holo awesome christmas nails!  Pardon my language but dezh shitz on fiyah!!!!!  The best part about this mani is that it's utterly traditional in color scheme and utterly untraditional with respect to the subject matter.  After all snowflakes should be white or blue or something.  Or should they?

Basecoat/Topcoat: UNT Peel Off Basecoat / Sally Hansen Diamond Flash
Base color: Polished by KPT Holographic Topcoat 35
Stamping polish: Mundo de Unas Red and Forest Green
Stamping plate: Sugar Bubbles Special 02

Even though this is pretty simple it's also super pretty right? I treated the Polished by KPT Spectraflair 35 Topcoat like a silver holo which made all the difference here.  It did take a lot of coats.  If you watch my tutorial you can see it's like 5 or 6 coats of polish, but it was worth it for the pure gorgeous effect of the linear holo!

Holy holo nights ;)  I actually meant to take a swatch photo of just the holo, but started stamping immediately lol.  So in the end this is the most holo I captured before stamping.

So I created a lot of different poses over this nail art and I'm really pleased with how this came out!  I literally took dozens of pictures.  I realized it takes a lot of effort to create photographic variety, but I'm happy with how many unique and cool poses I was able to pull out. If you've been reading along for a while you know I'd been wanting to change things up a bit.  More importantly  I'm pretty obsessed with this holo conflagration in general ;)

I also happen to adore this Sugar Bubbles plate!  It's no longer made but her new holiday plates do feature some of the same images from the SBS holiday themed plates.

So what do you think?  I'm rushing off to a Christmas Eve dinner but I'd love some feedback on the photos and nail art.  Also don't forget to give my video a thumbs up on Youtube! Now let's hope Santa brings me a nice Tokina lens as a Christmas present this year as my 40mm Nikor is just a wee bit too short ;) Enjoy your Christmas Eve everyone and thanks so much for reading! I'll see you next post...
