Today I decided to do a how to post on how to keep your foil mani's looking sparkling and unwrinkled and lasting more than a millisecond.  I did think this was common knowledge, but somewhere along the way I realized it isn't given how many questions I had gotten when I posted my scattered foil nails.   Once I understood there were really no blog posts or videos out there to show people how to keep your foils looking fantastic I realized I should probably write a post and do a video review.  So here we are! I'm going to run through the various techniques below and I'm sure there is one out there for everyone.  PS  let me know if I missed a method that you know about and leave comments, suggestions, and feedback below especially if you found this helpful!    Now let's get started!

For all those howling in the rabble for my witchy watermarbling blood, see SimplyNailogical, I bring you a nice alternative using my new stamping polishes from Emily de Molly ;) You can check out my in depth review of them here.   Now if you can't watermarble you can fake it till you make it using this cascade watermarble plate from Vivid Lacquer.  Btw watermarble plates have been around for a while now, VL's was one of the first, but now it seems they are gaining popularity.  So as long as you can stamp you can also get a similar effect ;) Rejoice!

Welcome to my 2nd review of the new year on the Lacquer Lockdown blog! What?!? I know I feel like I've done so many reviews and comparisons how is it possible? But recently I've been very focused on my filming and photography so I haven't spent as much time sitting down to review items that I've been using.  I've only ever done one prior review on stamping polish and I didn't really like the the layout I used on that one so this time it's going to much more in depth.  I'm choosy when it comes to stamping polish.  Behind the scenes I try a lot; some I'm not happy with and they never make an appearance on my blog and for others you know it's business as usual.  Today I'm going to be reviewing a brand of stamping polish I've never reviewed before - Emily de Molly which is run by the adorable, creative, and kind Hayley!   P.S. Hot Off The Stamping Press: New Moyra Nail Art Stamping Plates + Stamping Mat!

Guess what's dawned over the horizon?  More new stamping plates from this new company I cannot get enough of - Moyra!  If you don't know what I'm talking about go read this review I did for their stamping plates.  And while you are over there leave me some freaking comment love on your experiences with these plates and the company etc. There are no comments, but I know some of you have some experience with this company and plates etc! Help a sistah out ;)  Now they've released 4 more new plates and a stamping mat of their very own.  I also have some good news for us stateside dwellers, but more on that later.  For now let's just drool together...

As I sit here writing this post I'm drinking a pumpkin Blue Moon and thinking fall is the best.  Yeah I know spring is just around the corner flowers and all that jazz, but I'd be happy if pumpkins and all things fall existed year round so I could indulge especially if they are as beautiful as this PSL nail polish from Painted Polish by Lexi!

Happy Friday! And let me tell you darlings there is just so freaking much to be happy about today ;) I woke up this morning after dreaming of some kind of sushi fiesta ravenous and then I opened my inbox to find some sweet sweet news from UberChic Beauty.  Brittany has been dropping plates like it's hot all year - I'm including the calendar year of her company opening!  Today's plate is so perfect so pretty so awesome that I was blown away and then I saw 4 little golden letters - SALE.  That my darlings is what we call that.  My fingers were clicking before I knew it ;)

Now that Valentine's Day is over it's back to business as usual.  I'm catching up because apparently I missed one massive collection that released from MoYou London about 2 weeks ago.  I'm not sure how that happened.  I think it's because it was titled weirdly so I skipped right past in in my inbox. Anyway I can't believe someone who's such a hardcore fan of typography as myself missed this latest collection cause let me tell you now I want them ALL.  Let's take a look!

I have no idea what you plans were.  I have homework out the wahzoo plus a date with Starbucks and business as usual.  However if you are scrambling around for some last minute nail art or just want to rock some pretty nails this next and almost last of my V-day series nail art is definitely for you!  Its all pretty and holographic and nude and soft and girly all swirled into one and with or without the love accent I think this look could work well year round!

Still hanging in there.  My soul is not completely shriveled and I'm giving it my full gusto all about the love all about the bling bling heart thang.  Ok that's a lie, but whatever for those that follow me on Instagram you know I just got my new MoYou London Festive plates for Valentine's Day seriously in the nick of time for some V-day nail art.  I'm also very seriously considering how to work my own style into 2 different V-day looks, but time is closing in.  I should have started doing these the last 2 weeks of January because now I'm finally starting to get lots of cool ideas.  Alas!

So apparently its something called Super Bowl Sunday today, but since neither team is a team I give a cent about I'm off to other adventures. Namely trying to get over my nail fail slump.  I have tried so many mani's lately in pursuit of my Valentine's Day spirit and a lot of them have gone belly up.  The most I've gotten out of it were some beautiful swatches.  I'll take that, but seriously I'm so dissapointed that my last 3 mani's have been absolute fails.  So today I decided let's stick to simple and simple in this case means nude and lace.

Valentine's Day 2016: Radiating Hearts and Kitty Love Nail Art + Tutorial

Ah its that time when we begin contemplating how much love is love.  Our nails and our candies and our slowly expanding waists from excess chocolate intake all reflect this lovely obsession. Personally I feel slightly nauseous.  Usually this begins at the top of January when the Valentine's Day decorations replace the Christmas ones.  I start thinking gah not again.  However this year I'm going to really try and rise to the occasion and give this whole lovey dovey nail thing a go.  Note I said try no promises.  As such I thought I'd start out with something on the milder side of love - kitty love ;)
