Now that Valentine's Day is over it's back to business as usual. I'm catching up because apparently I missed one massive collection that released from MoYou London about 2 weeks ago. I'm not sure how that happened. I think it's because it was titled weirdly so I skipped right past in in my inbox. Anyway I can't believe someone who's such a hardcore fan of typography as myself missed this latest collection cause let me tell you now I want them ALL. Let's take a look!
I love this new mascot and her gif so freaking much! Gimme that sliver hair girl ;)
Classic typewriter old school style clean lettering. This is beyond awesome. If any of you ever typed on a old school word processor or typewriter you know this layout is pretty much exact to the devices themselves. I can tell a lot of thought went into this design!
Old school renaissance style typography. It's pretty much script that you see associated with fairytales and fantasy stories. Think Tolkien and King Arthur. The knights on the side are a nice bonus, but I think they are probably too large to stamp fully onto the nail.
Art Deco. A period I would know anywhere. I love everything about the designs of this time period particularly those related to archietecture and jewelry. Gold age of decadence, prohibition, and jazz. I love it!
That eye chart that's in your doctors office. I carry it around in my pockets daily when I'm on the floor. I suck at these things since I have a stigmatism. I love that they turned this into a plate. Stand 4 feet back and read line one ;)
"There's only 2 types of people in the world....the ones that entertain and the one's that observe. I'm like the ringleader I call the shots..." Lol my bad but really the first thing I thought of was Britney Spears Circus. Love this typography. Its very close to the typography seen on the UC Alphabet 01 plate one set of them anyway.
Oh snap they made the Comic Collection it's own set of typography letters. I love the cutouts here and little action bursts coming from some of the letters!
Remember when you get those practice handouts on how to write your letters in cursive? Do students still get those? I have no idea. I always did miserably in handwriting/penmenship. As a lefty everything got smeared particularly when I did it with pencil. To this day I don't write in cursive since it looks like I'm trying to put a hex on someone. Good thing this plate exists to get the message across lol.
Sanskrit inspired/Arabic inspired! Wow MYL have outdone themselves. I have never ever seen typography like this anywhere on a plate. And now you know why I must have to have them all! Each one is seriously different and seriously unique. Gotta love it. These plates retail for the usual 4.99GBP. They are already available on the MoYou London website. Go get em and happy hunting!
