Holo everything!
Lol seriously how many holo mani's have I posted lately? Am I posting too many - are you getting sick of it? Don't worry I'm getting ready to post a few more of my more complex mani's soon i.e. heavily detailed. I realized I haven't been trying them of late. BUT today it's holo rainbows and geometric stamping! I actually got this idea from looking at a video from Simply Nailogical though I didn't use liquid sharpies it still came out really nicely once I added more alcohol to the scribbles (see tutorial).
So in my last tutorial I had to voice over because I made so many freaking mistakes and I needed to explain myself. I also asked my followers if they prefer to hear my voice rather than music. Surprisingly every person who commented said yes! Oy. I'm pretty self conscious about my voice actually it's really juvenile and so is my face. In addition I've also been told my voice is very sing-song, but if you want to hear that 12 year old squeak then your wishes shall be granted lol.
Pausing for a moment let's talk about sharpie nail art. Did you know its nothing more than a glorified alcohol ink mani i.e if you had clear polish and the concentrated inks you can create this same mani without sharpies? Or you can dilute the inks with straight up isopropyl alcohol. I obviously used sharpies here, but this could have also easily been done with just the inks. I'm just pointing it out in case you don't want to go out and buy some sharpies just to create nail art :)
Mani-louge
Basecoat/Topcoat: UNT Peel Off Basecoat / Sally Hansen Diamond Flash
Basecolor: KBShimmer Alloy Matey!
Gradient: 80's Glam Sharpie Packet in the ROY G BIV colorways
Stamping polish: Mundo de Unas (2) Black
Stamping plate: UberChic Beauty UC 1-01
Abracadabra it's a rainbow!
Alloy Matey is holo fire. I just got this polish when I redeemed my final KBShimmer points. I wanted something that was extremely holographic glitter a la Cupcake Polish's Unicorn Collection or the new Ultra Flame collection from KBShimmer and boy did I get it.
Look how ridiculous this looks with just the sharpie over it. Gah! This of course is mid transition. I just snapped a quick pic right in between colors.
Of course I had to add some stamping because come on this is Lacquer Lockdown and we be stamping! And if I was gonna stamp over a holo rainbow it had to be Uberchic Beauty. Btw I got such a fabulous idea from this mani to try out with the new UC plates I'm dying! It must be done and so it shall!
And look at this! I love how the holo is so strong it pushes through the color on top. Btw it turns out that KBShimmer had the mega flame holos for a while before this most recent collection only now its available across the rainbow. When I was looking at them I literally wanted to cry. They are so gorgeous. Now that I have this one I know they will all be worth it!
Yow! This was totally worth the effort of mixing up the sharpies and blending the colors! Everything just came out some bright and blingy <3
And there we have it! What do you think? Too much? Overkill? Would anyone be interested in seeing different kinds of Sharpie nail art or is this trend totally over? I'm not even sure this is a trend, but whatever it was fun! Sharpies can be found wherever there is stationary these days and the UberChic Beauty Collection 1 can be found here. Thanks so much for reading and I'll see you next post....
